Treasure Tress February Review: Shea Moisture
It’s been over a year since I signed up to Treasure Tress and I’m a fan, I love the fact that most of the products I receive I would never buy myself. I’m a massive fan of the unknown, I love waiting for my box to come seeing whats inside and then getting to try them out.
February box was full of Shea Moisture.
Shea Moisture was one of the first products I bought when I first went natural, I can remember ordering it online as back then you could only get it imported from America. I had spent hours on YouTube watching video after video on how to style natural hair and what products to use. I remember everyone raving about Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus so I bought the whole range and it wasn’t cheap but I had to have it.
When it finally came I remember falling in love with how good it smelled.
I’m not going to lie and say I loved every product in the range but I do still buy Shea Moisture and it was nice to get this range this month.
This months box consist of 4 Jamaican Black Castor Oil range. The only product in this range that I’ve tried previously was the Shampoo.
This Sulfate free, clarifying shampoo removes buildup, while infusing the hair with moisture.
I’ve been using this Shampoo on and off for just over a year now, The thing I love most about the Shampoo is how clean my hair feels after using it, for me, this is a deep cleaning Shampoo it leaves my hair feeling like all the build-up has been removed. That is also one of the main reasons why this is not in my top 3 Shampoo, although my hair always feels so clean after using it also feels a little dry. I know this Shampoo has Black Jamaican Castor Oil in it but unlike other Shampoo which is infused with Oils, this Shampoo leave my hair feeling like it needs oil put back into it. I do like this Shampoo and will continue to use it, it’s just not the best out there.
This deep conditioning Masque restores strength and resilience to damaged, brittle or chemically processed hair
Now, this Hair Mask surprised me, I’ve tried a few of Shea Moisture Hair Mask and I’m just not a fan. For some strange reason, every Shea Moisture Mask has left my hair knotty, unmanageable and just not nice but this was not the case with Shea Moisture Black Castor Oil Mask, when I applied it to my hair I was not expecting a lot from this and was really with another conditioner to help save my hair. I put a really genius amount on my hair and just let it sit for a few minutes before I even tried putting a brush to my hair, I was so shocked when the brush went through my hair, don’t get me wrong there were knots there always is. My hair was manageable and felt soft and healthy I don’t know what they have done to this Mask but it is defiantly a keeper the only bad thing which I didn’t like was the smell and I know that’s just a personal thing and does not affect how good this Mask was in my hair.

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner & Shea Moisture Jamaica Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Styling Lotion I used as one I mixed the two together and applied a genius amount to my hair. What can I say I LOVED these two together my hair loved these to together.
My curls were soft and defined, I had little to no frizz.
This only thing I don’t love about these products was the smell, but it seems I’m the only one as every wash day when I went into work everyone keeps saying how nice I smelled & the only thing I had changed was the products in my hair.
Now this is what my hair looks like after the wash and conditioning process
As you can see the front is wavy, the middle is frizzy and the back is more curly.
There was not a lot of difference with my hair before and after the product was in.
My hair doesn’t like a lot being done to it, I can do the wash and go, the wash and blow dry or the finger twist that’s it anything else and my hair is a bloody mess, so for me every hair product has to be able to withhold these hairstyles and my hair not to be frizzy crazy looking which I tell you some product really do, do.
Wash & Go
Now, this is my number one go-to hairstyle, I’m lazy and like the fact I can wash my hair and put some product into my hair and that’s it I’m out the door.
This was my hair once it was dry.
This hairstyle lasted 3 days before it was put in a bun. This is a good amount of time for my hair to last in a wash and go. These products made my hair more manageable and keep my curl pattern lasting for a full 3 days.
I did try out the two other hairstyle that I do and they both come out pretty good, the hairstyle lasted 3+ days which is amazing for me as sometimes I only get a one day wear.
This product worked really well with my hair and is a keeper
