Tasty Tuesday: Fatburger
The week before Lent I went crazy and had as much carb fueled food as possible.
On one of my carb overloads, I went to a place in Camden called Fatburger.
I’d been told such good things that I had to try it for myself.
Fat Burger is on Jamestown Road.
Jamestown Road is a bit of a food haven with Byron next door, Rosso Pomodoro next door to Byron and The Diner on the corner.
I went to Fatburger on a Wednesday straight after work; there was a reasonable amount of customers, but not too many that you couldn’t find a seat.
One thing that strikes me was the number of stuff; there were loads.
The menu was a lot bigger than expected as they also offer chicken.
We had come for burgers, so that’s what we got.
I went for the Double Fatburger which comes with Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo, Mustard, Relish, Onions and Pickles any added on are £1 each I added cheese because cheese makes everything better.
For my sides Chili Cheese Fries
Drink of Vanilla Milkshake
This is what the meal looked liked, to me it did not look all that appetising the cheese wasn’t melted, and the burger looks ok.
Chilli Cheese Fries
When the order came the Chilli Cheese Fries were cold; I couldn’t eat them so asked if they could be re-heated.
I was given new Fries, but they still wasn’t great, the Cheese had not melted the Chilli was barely warm.
The Chilli wasn’t very good it had an out of the canned kind of taste, it didn’t taste like it was freshly made and I defiantly would not want to eat it again
I would give the Chilli Fries 4 out of 10 eatable but not very nice.
The Burger was a lot better than the Fries, it was not the best looking Burger but it did taste better than it looked.
What can I say it wasn’t Five Guys good, but it was still pretty good Burger.
The Patty was cooked pretty well so if you like your Burgers on the rare side this is not the place for you.
7 out 10
The Milkshake was nice and thick just how a Milkshake should be, but the taste just wasn’t for me, I went for Vanilla as you can’t go wrong with Vanilla but this tasted like walls Vanilla ice cream my nan used to buy me and my cousins as kids, it always had an almost fake Vanilla taste which was a little overbearing.
the Shake get 6 out of 10
Overall 7 out of 10
Fatburger was nice but nothing too amazing to get me running back anytime soon. The staff were friendly and were happy to help, The Chilli Fries were the biggest let down they were cold and the cheese was not melted. The burger was nice but not good enough to be amazing. the Milkshake could have been a winner but the vanilla flavouring tasted fake and cheap.
