Today is Ash Wednesday which means it’s time to give up something for Lent; I’m not a religious person in any shape or form, but once a year I like to give something up for the six weeks of Lent. I think it a show if strength on my part to see if I have the willpower to give something up for that length of time.
Last year I failed I don’t think I lasted a week if I’m honest, this year I want to show my self that I can do it.
The past week I’ve been toying with ideas of what I could give up, I knew it had to be food base as I have issues with food so it only made sense to do something I would find hard to do.
The two main ideas I had was no carbs or cutting out meat, I thought long and hard about what to give up as I do love carbs and I do love meat, but one had to go.
I’ve decided to go with the carbs but I’m also going to cut out meat every other day which I’m going to find challenging, but I think I can do it.
I’ve also decided to give up alcohol which I think will be the easy part.
To help and keep me on track I’m going to take pictures of everything I eat each day so that I don’t just put food in my mouth but think about it first.
Today is day one, and I’ve decided to go meat free
What are you giving up for Lent?
