What I’m Giving Up For Lent Plus Weekly Check In
So last week Wednesday, I hurt my thigh which meant I was unable to workout.
I’ve come to realise that I need to workout to keep me on track, as soon as I’m not working out I come off the healthy eating waggon.
For the past week, I have eaten like a pig; it’s hasn’t helped that I’ve been experiencing PMS.
Also, I think because I’ve known that I was going to cut out all bad carbs for Lent I went wild eating as many carbs as I could.
What I’m Giving Up For Lent & Why
I’m not a religious person, so for me giving up something for Lent is more to do with willpower.
Do I have the willpower to go 46 days without something?
To be honest, I’m not sure, but I’d like to think so.
I haven’t always been a carb lover, in fact most of my life I’ve been a protein junkie.
I’d get most of my carbs from fruit, but in 2010 that all changed for me when I was diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia, which is when you eat high levels of carbs your body produces too much insulin which causes low blood sugar.
For me I will get hot sweats and come over faint, I’ve fainted a few times because of it and was advised to cut down my levels of carbs so that I don’t produce insulin in the first place.
This is the main reason why I carb cycle, as carbs are not my friend.
Since I’ve been told to cut back on carbs I’ve seem to find it hard to just say no, and I’ve taken to bingeing on them on a regular.
So the next 46 days will be a test for me to see if I can give up on unhealthy carbs, and see how strong my willpower is, I’m hoping it’s strong.
This might just be the begin, as I’ve been on this road to lose weight and get back into shape but I’m forever losing the fight, something is holding me back from being where I want to be.
This week weigh in & measurements are sickening, I am today at my heaviest weight and feel ashamed of myself.

So I’ve gained a total 5.6lbs and my Inches are the same as when I started out
